- Personal best is saved for each region and question type.
- No login, no download. Play instantly.
Tips & Strategy
- The capital is often not the biggest or best-known city. It's Canberra, not Sydney; Ottawa, not Toronto; Brasília, not Rio de Janeiro; Ankara, not Istanbul; Bern, not Zurich.
- Start with one region until you're getting 9 or 10 out of 10, then move to World mode.
- Use the review list after a round. Missing the same capital twice is a sign to say it out loud once.
- Try Find the country mode too. Recognizing a capital's name is a different skill from recalling it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which countries are in the quiz?
Over 100 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania. Oceania appears in World mode only, because it has too few countries to fill a round on its own.
Why aren't some countries included?
Countries with more than one capital or a disputed one, such as South Africa or Bolivia, are left out so every answer in the quiz is clear-cut.
Is the capital always the biggest city?
No, and that's what trips people up. Many capitals were chosen or built for other reasons, so the largest city is often a wrong answer.
Will I get the same questions each round?
Each round picks a random set of countries, and the wrong answers are shuffled too, so rounds differ. With a limited pool, some repeats over time are normal.
Does it save my best score?
Yes. Your best score is saved on your device, separately for each region and question type.
Is there a time limit?
No. Take as long as you need for each question.
