Tic Tac Toe

Three in a row wins it. Play against the computer, from an easy opponent up to one that literally cannot be beaten, or hand the device to someone else for a real match.

How to Play

  1. Pick vs Computer or 2 Player.
  2. Against the computer, choose a difficulty — Easy plays randomly, Medium plays reasonably well, Hard is unbeatable.
  3. X always goes first. Tap an empty square to place your mark.
  4. Get three in a row — across, down, or diagonally — to win the round.
  5. The scoreboard keeps a running tally across rounds until you reset it.

Game Features

  • A genuinely unbeatable Hard mode, built on the same minimax approach used in real game-theory analysis of tic-tac-toe.
  • Medium mode plays smart enough to catch obvious wins and blocks, without being flawless.
  • 2-player mode for passing the device back and forth with someone next to you.
  • The winning line highlights automatically the moment three line up.
  • Running scoreboard for X, O, and draws that persists across rounds in the same session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play against a friend?

Yes, 2-player mode lets two people take turns on the same device.

How smart is the computer opponent?

It depends on the difficulty: Easy moves randomly, Medium takes obvious wins and blocks but isn't flawless, and Hard calculates the optimal move every time.

Is there a way to beat Hard difficulty?

No. Hard plays perfectly, so the best a perfect opponent can do against it is force a draw.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes, tapping a square works the same as clicking it on desktop.

Does it keep score across rounds?

Yes, wins for X and O plus draws are tallied until you start a new match or switch modes.
