Tips & Strategy
- Start with the longest words on the list. A long word has more letter pairs to latch onto, so it's harder to miss than a short one.
- Look for the first two letters of a word together rather than one letter at a time.
- On Hard, remember words can run backwards and upwards. If you've searched forwards everywhere and found nothing, read the grid the other way.
- Cross-check the list as you go. The last two or three words are usually easier to find once the board is mostly cleared.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I select a word?
Drag from the first letter to the last letter in a straight line. You can also tap the first letter and then tap the last one, which is handy on a phone.
Can words be backwards or diagonal?
It depends on the difficulty. Easy is left to right and top to bottom only. Medium adds diagonals. Hard allows all eight directions, including backwards and upwards.
Is every puzzle guaranteed to be solvable?
Yes. The grid is built by placing every listed word first and only then filling the leftover squares with random letters, so each word on the list is definitely in there.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Dragging a finger across the grid works, and so does tapping the first and last letter of a word.
Is there a time limit?
No. A timer runs so you can chase a personal best, but the round only ends when you've found every word.
Does it save my best time?
Yes. Your fastest time is saved on your device, separately for each difficulty.
